Those requirements could be state by the Governmental Authorities in order to protect the human, animal and vegetal health and the environment, or by the Private Sector as a way to have a competitive advantage.

Accreditation means to provide "confidence".

The international conformity assessment schemes contribute to improve the international trade, because they promote the confidence of the results provided by accredited bodies.
